2017: A year of recognition for PatSnap

Fresh off the heels of four nominations at the V3 Technology Awards last month, PatSnap—and its founder, Jeffrey Tiong—has continued November 2017 with more recognition.

Each year, luxury magazine The Peak recognises ten individuals who have made a difference and inspire others in their fields. This year's Peak Power List focused on technology innovators, including our CEO, Jeffrey Tiong.

During his undergrad days working at a US-based biotech devices firm, Jeffrey experienced the inefficiencies of R&D research. R&D investment worldwide is expected to surpass US$2 trillion in 2017 but R&D ROI has decreased 65% in the past 40 years—we need a solution. The world needs its greatest innovative minds focussing on what they do best—pushing the frontiers of technology. The research aspect of innovation should be easy, intuitive, fast and even fun.

10 years ago, Jeffrey turned his idea into PatSnap—a company established at the forefront of its own technological field. The company hasn't looked back, growing faster than anyone  imagined. It now has around 800 employees across offices in Singapore, China, the UK and the USA, and helps over 3,000 customers in more than 28 countries.

As a former student of the National University of Singapore (NUS), Jeffrey has also been awarded as part of the NUS Alumni Awards 2017. This recognises 15 alumni for their outstanding achievements and contributions to their industries. Jeffrey has been named an "Outstanding Young Alumni" for his achievements as an innovator and businessman. He has also been recognised for his commitment to mentoring and inspiring undergraduates at the university.

To round off a momentous month—and year—for PatSnap, Singapore’s Finance Minister, Mr. Heng Swee Keat, and Senior Minister of State, Mr. Koh Poh Koon, paid a visit to our offices in Suzhou, China. PatSnap's co-founders, Markus Haense and Guan Dian, gave an office tour while sharing achievements by our colleagues in China and Singapore.

While 2017 is not yet over, we’re delighted to see Jeffrey and PatSnap recognised for making a difference in the world of innovation. We'll continue providing excellence to our customers, by streamlining and enhancing global R&D in 2018 and beyond.
