PatSnap client showcase: Mike Cane, Cambridge Design Partnership

Mike Cane is founding partner at Cambridge Design Partnership, a decorated inventor and a PatSnap user.

Mike has 30 years’ experience in innovation and new product development—with his first patent filed in 1984. He has since developed consumer and medical products for major companies around the world. He is an advocate of customer-centred innovation, and the power of design and engineering working creatively together to generate breakthrough solutions.

After working in senior roles with some of the UK’s leading consultancies, Mike founded Cambridge Design Partnership in 1996. In 2002, Mike took a short break from CDP to lead a spin out company developing and manufacturing a novel medical diagnostic device to identify early-stage melanoma skin cancer. He has been an external lecturer at Cambridge University, Royal College of Art and the London Institute, and has held several non-executive board positions in technology start-ups.
